Beatallica | Pour House Music Hall | Clubs & Concerts | Indy Week

Clubs & Concerts

When: Tue., May 1, 9 p.m. 2012

At the start of their decade-long career, Beatallica released its music for free and did its best to keep its members' actual names out of the press. After all, for a band that sang about love so much, the Beatles, their estates and their representatives have proven warm and fuzzy mostly for lawsuits. And do you remember Lars' sanctimonious wrath for Napster? After some eventual and incumbent legal wrangling, the Metallica-and-Beatles hybridizers finally stepped into the realm of actual releases and live dates. This is all to say that, when "Blackened the USSR" and "Hey Dude" were funny indie outliers poking at the biggest bands in the world, they felt a little more rewarding than they do now that Beatallica has entered the music-industry mechanism. Still, shit's pretty funny and, tonight, only $7. —Grayson Currin
