The Nasher's current exhibition of Wangechi Mutu's work is being acknowledged as extraordinary in the national press. We locals also get to enjoy the museum's wealth of programming around the show. As part of the annual "Summer Days, Nasher Nights" program, the museum screens the 2006 French film Bamako, which depicts a trial in the Malinese capital city. Directed by Abderrahmane Sissako, the film plays out the complexities of African poverty upon daily life in Bamako and considers the roles of the World Bank and International Monetary Fund in that dynamic. —Chris Vitiello
