Bad Manners, Archbishops of Blount Street

When: Tue., May 31, 9 p.m. 2011

Until plus-size frontman Buster Bloodvessel finally does actually bust the big vessel, Bad Manners remains the longest continually running act from England's late-'70s 2 Tone explosion. The only original member of this 35-year-old ska band, Bloodvessel has propelled with his nimble baritone, irreverent lyrics and outrageous stage antics. (He once mooned the camera on Italian TV after hearing the pope was watching.) Like most of their peers, Bad Manners are more deeply informed by R&B and pop than the reggae and punk that has energized subsequent revivals. Like many similar long-touring acts, they lean heavily on a boisterous live show. They're currently supporting several decades-old album reissues. —Chris Parker

Price: $14-16
