Death to False Hope Records, the Durham-based and digital-only imprint run of Almost People guitarist Scotty Sandwich, is a reliable brand for both the music it releases and the shows it presents. DTFH is an arbiter of millennial punk rock, ranging from punk-gone-folk troubadours to pop-punk purists, from emo revivalists to beers-and-beards Hot Water Music acolytes. This post-Christmas triple bill upholds the image. Floridian headliners Among Giants cast punk's distortion against folk-rock's rolling melodies. Chapel Hill's The Hissy Fits have evolved into a tense and tight outfit in the vein of Title Fight or Taking Back Sunday. Similarly, Winston-Salem's Wolves & Wolves & Wolves & Wolves embrace the radio-rock swell of mid-'00s headliners such as Rise Against and Thrice. —Bryan C. Reed
