Death Watch: Charles Walker is scheduled to be executed at Central Prison in Raleigh at 2 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 3 for the 1992 death of Tito Davidson in Greensboro. Davidson's body was never recovered and there is no physical evidence tying Walker to the crime--no fingerprints, no blood, no DNA, no gunshot residue, no ballistics, no hair fiber or other traces, no spent cartridges, and no bullets. Walker stands to become the first person to be executed in NC in modern times without a confession, physical evidence, or disinterested eyewitness testimony. In fact, he stands to become the first person executed in this state without recovery of the victim's body, or even the victim's clothing, personal effects, or traces of blood showing that a homicide occurred.
