A Walk in the Woods

When: May 10-19 2013

Two men are sitting by themselves on a park bench. One says to the other, "Man has worked a long time for this. He is an animal who must fulfill every potential. Even the potential to kill himself. Even the potential to kill everything else."

The year is 1983, the city is Geneva. The Doomsday Clock, set by the Bulletin of Atomic Scientists, stands at four minutes to midnight. And two nuclear arms negotiators, one representing the U.S., the other the U.S.S.R., wonder if they can trust each other enough to begin dismantling the two most lethal collections of armaments assembled in the history of mankind. After a promising inaugural production of Proof last year, Exit Through Eden returns with A Walk in the Woods. Marta King directs company founder Eric Hale and J. Chachula (in a rare stage appearance) in Lee Blessing's high-stakes historical drama. —Byron Woods
