When: Thursdays-Saturdays, 8 p.m. and Sundays, 3 p.m. Continues through July 25 2010

10 By 10 turns 9 in this annual production of ten 10-minute plays at The ArtsCenter. This year's plays include a short by Carrboro's David Rabinowitz, of The ArtsCenter's Playwrights Roundtable. Rabinowitz's short, "Somewhere Out There," is one of five world premieres this year, out of an estimated 550 submissions from around the world, including Australia, Israel, Russia and Spain. We're particularly curious about "Good God Enters Flossing" (by J. Stephen Brantley), "Don't Eat the Yellow Picasso" (by James C. Ferguson) and "The Banana Trial" (by Eddie Zipperer). Tickets are—what else?—$10 for the production, which runs July 8–25 on Thursdays–Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m. There will be a special Playwright Gala July 10, and a Wine and Meet the Artists event July 17. —Zack Smith
