The June 14 class and subsequent Breaking Bread dinner in conjunction with ChickenWireNC
is a celebration of North Carolina's wheat harvest. Proceeds go toward supporting Vatinet's local mill, Carolina Ground, and its research of local grains.

Lionel Vatinet will teach the art of bread making.
Class participants will learn to mix by hand, shape and make a variety of breads including flatbreads and stuffed baguettes, using North Carolina flours from Carolina Ground.
The exact location of the dinner will be revealed the day of the event. For now just know it's at a cool spot in Cary that one doesn't generally have access to. Vatinet won't be the only all-star taking part in the event. Lucettegrace's Daniel Benjamin, Herons' John Childers, Carolina Inn's James Clark, Rocky Top Hospitality's Serge Falcoz-Vigne, Searstone's Robin Bilodeau and Little Hen's Regan Stachler are also expected to be involved in the feast, which will feature dishes prepared in a wood-fired oven.
Dinner is $125 and dinner plus the 90-minute class is $175, so you'll need some dough to take part (sorry, but it's a baking story and some things are required by journalistic law). Seating is extremely limited so don't dawdle if interested.
