Carrboro
Farmer Appreciation Community Potluck
200 E. Poplar Ave.—Your local farmers' market is not only a great place to learn where your food comes from, but also who your food comes from. Shaking the hands of those that planted, watered and weeded your cabbage greens is a unique and important part of the market experience. In that same spirit, Carrboro Greenspace is hosting a Farmer Appreciation Community Potluck at 200 E. Poplar Ave., between Ashe and Elm streets, following the market's normal 3:30-6:30 p.m. operating time. "It's a way to say thank you to the farmers that feed us and to celebrate our local food network," says Greenspace co-founder Sammy Slade. Bring your appetite, something to eat with and a favorite dish (made with local ingredients!) to share. Visit www.carrborogreenspace.org for details. —Jessica Fuller
