TRES CHICAS
HIDEAWAY BBQ—Tres Chicas have a history of generosity, already donating their beautiful music to benefits for IPAS, Band Together and Alejandro Escovedo. Talent booker Marianne Taylor, both at her old haunt of The Pour House and her new home at Hideaway BBQ, shares the same spirit. Tonight's ticket sales ($10-$12) go to the Food Bank. As for the music, it's more than charitable: Tres Chicas—Lynn Blakey, Caitlin Cary and Tonya Lamm—make austere music, wrapping characteristically wry but romantic reflections in perfectly comfortable harmonies and voicings. Be there at 8:30 p.m.—Grayson Currin

WEESEFEST
THE POUR HOUSE—It's a logical progression: First up is Patty Hurst Shifter frontguy J. Chris Smith answering the musical question "What if Paul Westerberg began his solo career with only a natural twang in his voice and a well-worn copy of Every Picture Tells a Story?" Next is latest Raleigh sensation the T's, whose name is apparently the authorized abbreviation for "recommended if you like T. Rex and beer." Closing is Snatches of Pink, the veteran-stocked outfit that puts the "aw" in rawk. This Pour House gathering is called Weesefest, named after the birthday-celebrating Pour House doorman. Music at 9 p.m. —Rick Cornell
