VEGAN THANKSGIVING
PARIZÄDE—For 14 years, one of the hippest ways to observe our annual orgy of gratitude is to join the Triangle Vegetarian Society for its Thanksgiving meal—this year, once again at Parizäde. The event sold out last week, so make a note of this mouth-watering all-vegan menu: The appetizer course includes wheatberry-wild rice salad with lavender-blueberry vinaigrette and lentil-brown/wild rice cakes with lemon tahini. The main course includes lime-marinated seared seitan with peppercorns and fig glaze; roasted garlic olive oil mashed potatoes with chives, mushroom gravy, apple-pecan stuffing and fresh raspberry-cranberry relish; macadamia nut blackened Cajun tempeh (the specialty of organizer Dilip Barman); Spanish vegetable paella; and shepherd's pie with wheat gluten, roasted root vegetables and mushrooms, with a potato crust. Dessert? Fresh fruits, pumpkin pie with pomegranate glaze and cinnamon currant apple pie. No alcohol is on the prix fixe menu, but the restaurant will happily serve you separately.
