Jimmy Eat World
Disco Rodeo—With the release of Chasing This Light, it seems emo dinos Jimmy Eat World are finally cashing the chips in and devoting themselves to gusto-at-11, even while lobbing softball ballads. But forgive the heavy studio hands: The songwriting knack hasn't totally evaporated. With Viva Voce at 7 p.m. for $20-$22. —Robbie Mackey

Georgann Eubanks

Eubanks appears at 3 p.m. today at Quail Ridge, McIntyre's Fine Books on Nov. 2 at 2 p.m. and the Regulator Bookshop on Nov. 8 at 7 p.m. —Adam Sobsey
