N.C. SYMPHONY GOSPEL CHRISTMAS
MEYMANDI CONCERT HALL—The North Carolina Symphony draws on church choirs from around the state capital for a night of holiday spirituals and hymns in its first "Gospel Christmas Spectacular." Like a true Christmas concert, the gospel spectacular is sure to feature belting soloists, lush orchestration and lots of holiday volume. Led by resident conductor William Henry Curry, with featured soloists Tina Morris-Anderson and Rozlyn Sorrell. Tickets range from $22-$40 for the 8 p.m. show. —Margaret Hair

Pittsboro
CAT TOURS
CARNIVORE PRESERVATION TRUST—To catch a glimpse of the endangered snow leopard for the nature series Planet Earth, BBC film crews spent over a year trekking through the steep, harsh vastness of its home terrain in the Himalayas. Only a few thousand of these rare creatures remain, and wildlife photographers were ecstatic to return to civilization with a few minutes of sensational footage. For Triangle residents, all that's required to view one of these graceful big cats in person is a short drive to Pittsboro. The Carnivore Preservation Trust gives guided tours of its facilities, which also house tigers, jaguars, ocelots and other cats, as well as the odd kinkajou and binturong (and we do mean odd). Tours are given from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, by reservation only (call 542-4684 to reserve). Tickets are $10-12 for adults, $5-$7 for kids (free for age 3 and under). See www.cptigers.org for more information. —Marc Maximov
