Congratulations to this year's winners and finalists! And thank you to all of our readers who voted in our new online-only poll. More than 2,500 of you visited our Web site to fill out this year's survey.

It's amazing how passionate we are about our favorites here in the Triangle. We love our coffee shops and comfort food, our chiropractors and comic book stores. We even have two categories with a tie for first place: Best Business Lunch and Best Italian.

A few businesses put on significant get-out-the-vote campaigns—but what's wrong with that? Their customers thought enough of them to respond, and that made for some close battles.

Have fun reading this year's Readers' Choice results, and be sure to congratulate the winners and finalists next time you see them.

Thanks to David Lorimer, who assisted with the Best Of project.

A special thank you to Tom Fuls of Blue Martini in Raleigh, who graciously opened up his restaurant and provided an incredible atmosphere for our 007 photo shoot.

Upon reading that last review, I have to wonder if that comment was written by my friend Rob from Raleigh or some other imposter named Rob from Raleigh. I'm also willing to accept a honorary award (plaque or no plaque) for best bartender. And if I may now present my own award... and the award goes to....... THE CAVE for BEST JUKEBOX!!!

I have to wonder about some of the reader's votes. Are these really regular readers of the Indy? Perhaps next year the staff should automatically kick out any votes for national chains. This is supposed to be the Best of the Triangle...not best of any ol' generic suburban shopping centers.
