Headlined by Mississippi seven-piece Rosco Bandana and its alternately ragged and polished blend of blues, folk and Southern rock, Oak City 7 again fills its bill with an eclectic mix of styles from both local and touring outfits. As the night's most inventive act, Chapel Hill's The Human Eyes touches upon The Cure and The Smiths in binding together dreamy '80s pop, fuzzy new wave and placid folk. San Francisco trio The Trophy Fire's shimmering modern rock anthems are built for arenas. Nashville singer-songwriter Doug McCormick brings strong pop-country typical of Music City's slick modern style, while Asheville flatpicker Jon Stickley leads his ever-changing trio in bluegrass and jazz explorations. —Spencer Griffith
