Three women artists take over Somerhill Gallery's main exhibition space this month when Nashville's Millie Jarrett, Chapel Hill's Kaolo Phoenix, and Fayetteville's Silvana Foti display their work. Jarrett is an abstract painter who has achieved wide acclaim in Tennessee; Phoenix, who was one of the founders of Chapel Hill's Women's Center, works in mixed media collage (see her "Around the Village," pictured above); and Foti, who's chair of the art department at Methodist College in Fayetteville, works in mixed media, employing brass to create unique two-dimensional sculptures with an Asian flavor. See their work through June 15 at Chapel Hill's Somerhill Gallery. Call 968-8868 or visit www.somerhill.com for details.
