Stammer!, Raleigh's monthly spoken-word evening, begins a new year early with a new hostess, Amy Nolan. A student at Duke University's Center for Documentary Studies, Nolan has made some changes in the event at Artspace: While still featuring spoken-word performances, Stammer! will now also include performance art, music and films. December's scheduled performers include Queen Sheba and DJ mattymatt, but as usual, the mic is open, so come sign up at the beginning of the event for your three-minute slot this Friday, Dec. 21 at 9 p.m. Call 821-2787 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org for details.
