Irish heritage arrives Saturday in Raleigh for the Southeast's second biggest St. Patrick's Day Parade. At noon, Cabarrus and Wilmington streets will be the starting point for over 3,000 marchers in Celtic floats and local bands jigging to this year's "Celtic Roots--Southern Branches" theme. The route heads north on Wilmington, east on Edenton and south on Blount to end at Moore Square for a mini-festival aimed at the Irish in everyone, featuring Irish cloggers, Jo Moore Scottish Dancers, the N.C. State Pipe Band, food and vendors. The event runs from 1:30-2:45 p.m. Remember to wear green, rain or shine. More information and the schedule of events is at www.raleighstpats.org.
