Just in time to whet your appetite for winter sports, the Raleigh Ski and Outing Club will present Warren Miller's 51st ski film on Nov. 16 at 7 p.m. at the Colony Theater. Ride (pictured right) is another death-defying escapade that moves from the peaks of New Zealand to the ice fields of Greenland, making stops in British Columbia, France, Russia and many other dazzlingly dangerous locales in between. Not only will you be treated to a solid 90 minutes of on-screen skiers and snowboarders making long powdery leaps and slides, you'll also get a chance to see World Cup moguls champion and Olympic medalist Nelson Carmichael live at the showing. Tickets are $8 in advance, $10 on the day of the screening, and their purchase makes you eligible to win door prizes and a free flight to Steamboat, Colo. For more information, call 847-5677.
