In cross-pollination

Area dance-goers know that the road to New York--that bourne from which no traveler once returned--has seen a lot more regular two-way traffic in recent years. The cross-pollination continues Saturday, Feb. 21, as local hero Amy Beth Schneider brings her Threads Dance Company down from the big city for an evening with colleagues and friends at the PSI Theater at Durham Arts Council.

Schneider's group will restage Cave, which impressed during last summer's "Opening Acts" series at the American Dance Festival, and two other works from repertory. Meredith Dance Theater will bring Carol Kyles Finley's "Glory," before Schneider's artistic alma mater, Choreo Collective, presents three sections from 8 Files, their collaboration with bassoonist Jim Schaeffer. Tickets run $9 for the general public, $7 for students; for reservations call 949-0849.
