N.C. State University's Friends of the Library 2001 N.C. Writers Series will be hosting Chapel Hill writer Daniel Wallace on April 10 for a reading from his latest novel, Ray in Reverse (pictured). From heaven, Wallace's protagonist has the opportunity to look back at his life in reverse order and reflect on how a man can drift off-course during his life's journey. What he sees is embarrassing: He didn't declare his love; he didn't say anything symbolic; he didn't reveal his benevolence or goodwill; he didn't even finish his sentence. Because his words just didn't measure up, Ray can't seem to get them out of his head. Booklist called the novel "A delightful, small package of exquisite writing." Wallace's first novel, Big Fish, will be adapted for the big screen by Steven Spielberg's DreamWorks Studios. Wallace will be speaking at N.C. State's Thompson Theatre at 7:30 p.m. Call 515-2841 for details.
