Heroes & Villains After Dark

When: Fri., Sept. 21, 6-9 p.m. 2012

Get a sitter and indulge your fantasy life as a superhero—or his or her dastardly foil. The North Carolina Museum of Life and Science stays up late for adult-only play with an evening of "Heroes and Villains After Dark." You'll have to put down your liquid nitrogen margarita for photo ops with roaming costumed characters. After you vogue with Iron Man, make a stop-motion animated film and learn about the history of sci-fi special effects, check out wearable robotics or just geek out with comic book experts. Chirba Chirba Dumplings and Great Lakes Brewing Company will be standing by so you don't have to drink Tang and eat out of squeeze tubes. The event runs 6–9 p.m. and is for ages 21 and up. It costs $7 to get in, and members get a free beer. —Chris Vitiello
