Raleigh
THE T'S
SLIM'S—Word on the street—Internet—is that The T's are the Raleigh band to see. On her Mann's World blog (mannsworld.blogspot.com), Karen Mann says, "The only description you can give to them is 'rock 'n' roll.' They're not this kind of rock, or that kind of rock. They're just rock 'n' roll." And this bit came from taste-making listserv Guitartown: "The T's are a thick slab of rock and roll. And if this town has a nutsack, The T's will rule it very soon." I don't think the writer is referring to a large bag to hold that Moore Square acorn, either. Cover is $3 for the 10 p.m. show. Seattle's The Lonely H opens. —Rick Cornell

MILONGAS
APRIL&GEORGE—Milongas are regular gatherings kicked off with a group dance lesson before exploding into a full-out tango dance party—and that's exactly what you'll get tonight. Complimentary lessons begin at 6:15, while the social dancing begins at 7:15 and lasts until the next morning. DJ Jason Laughlin will spin tango music with an eclectic mix of modern, electronica and alternative. Check out www.tangophilia.com/events for more info. —Karlie Justus
