Endorsements 2011 (November)


Early voting runs Thursday, Oct. 20, through Saturday, Nov. 5. Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 8.

In Durham, city residents vote for mayor and city council; Rougemont residents vote in the town council race, plus a referendum on the town's incorporation. All Durham County voters, including those living within the city limits of Raleigh and Chapel Hill, cast ballots in the referenda on a sales and use tax and a public transportation sales tax.

In Chapel Hill, residents can vote for mayor and town council; Carrboro voters can choose a mayor and board of aldermen. Residents of both towns vote in the Chapel Hill-Carrboro City school board race. All Orange County voters can cast ballots in the sales tax referendum.

In Pittsboro, races will be held for the mayor and board of commissioners. There is a runoff in for the District 3 seat on the Wake County Board of Education. And if you live in Hillsborough, Apex, Morrisville and Wake Forest, you also vote on Nov. 8.

The Indy does not endorse in unopposed races.
