Chamber Orchestra of the Triangle

When: Sun., Feb. 17, 3 p.m. 2013

We're blessed, in the Triangle, with a wealth of classical ensembles such as the Chamber Orchestra of the Triangle. Good thing, too, since public education continues to turn its back on music history education. (And Pat McCrory's barely turned the sheets back in the Governor's Mansion.) These ensembles have become adept at education and outreach of their own, and organizations such as KidZNotes have risen to the occasion, too. KidZNotes executive director Katie Wyatt joins the Chamber Orchestra as a guest conductor for Offenbach's "Intermezzo" and "Barcarolle" from Les Contes d'Hoffmann, while Chamber Orchestra director Lorenzo Muti leads the ensemble through the program of Rossini, Respighi, Nicolai and Schubert's "Unfinished Symphony." Tickets to the 3 p.m. show are $20, or free for students. —Chris Vitiello
