Central Park School for Children "Save Our Arts" Benefit with Tender Fruit, Mipso, Phil Cook & His Feat, Dollar Menu, CPSC Students

When: Sat., Feb. 2, 6 p.m. 2013

Central Park School for Children's Save Our Arts benefit has become a Durham tradition, showcasing performances by the same students for whom the event raises funds. It helps that the kids are complemented by an outstanding bill of locals. This year is no different: After 90 minutes of music from school bands in the garage bar, the event shifts to the showroom, where The Tender Fruit's twangy indie pop and Mipso's nu-folk are joined by one-man roots spectacular Phil Cook & His Feat. Featuring CPSC alumni Ian Campbell, Dollar Menu also plays the big stage. Watch the students for free beginning at 6 p.m., then pay $10-15 admission at 8 p.m. for the rest. Visit —Spencer Griffith

Price: $10-15
