44 Plays for 44 Presidents

When: Sept. 28-Oct. 7 2012

Depending on whether the authors of 44 Plays for 44 Presidents are liberal or conservative, this will either end with Barack Obama rising forth as a ray of hope from the ashes of the Bush administration, or someone going, "And then some black guy made a bunch of promises he couldn't keep; Romney, save us!" Is anyone else going to be glad when this year is just flat-out over? While there is perhaps little chance this can top The Simpsons' ode to the mediocre presidents ("There's Taylor, there's Tyler, there's Fillmore and there's Hayes/ There's William Henry Harrison—I died in 30 days!"), it's a chance to take a step back and remind ourselves that for all the deeply intelligent people involved in the implementing of campaigns, policy and more, politics is at heart incredibly stupid. Performances run Thursdays–Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. through Oct. 7. —Zack Smith
